Technical Analysis of Stock Trends, Tenth Edition 90.37 For CMT Level 1, focus on the chart patterns.

Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians (2nd Edition) 67.48 This is a comprehensive guide to technical trading. Although the scope might be intimidating, remember that CMT Level 1 focuses on defining technical analysis concepts. Application and integration are for more advanced levels.

Technical Analysis Explained : The Successful Investors Guide to Spotting Investment Trends and Turning Points 33.72 Pay attention to volume analysis, sentiment indicators, and cycle analysis.

The Definitive Guide to Point and Figure: A Comprehensive Guide to the Theory and Practical Use of the Point and Figure Charting Method 69.58* This book is as good as it claims. However, the topics covered in CMT Level 1 are basic and you can learn them with free resources online.

Technical Analysis: The Complete Resource for Financial Market Technicians (2nd Edition) 67.48 The scope in this book for CMT Level 2 is smaller because the focus is on application.

Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, Second Edition 61.54 Steve Nison is a candlestick expert and his book is a worthwhile investment. However, CMT Level 2 covers only the basic candlesticks topics, which you can learn them from free online resources.

Behavioural Investing: A Practitioners Guide to Applying Behavioural Finance (The Wiley Finance Series) 78.51 The reading assignments in this book are taxing but interesting to read.

Trading with Intermarket Analysis, Enhanced Edition: A Visual Approach to Beating the Financial Markets Using Exchange-Traded Funds (Wiley Trading) 53.12 Inter-market analysis has become extremely important with increasing globalization.

Japanese Candlestick Charting Techniques, Second Edition 61.54 The focus is on integrating candlesticks with other analysis, including candles with moving averages.

Incremental Cost 172.93 We left out the books included in CMT Levels 1 and 2.

DO I NEED TO BUY EVERY SINGLE BOOK FOR THE CMT PROGRAM?

The short answer is no. You do not need to buy every single book. But you do need to read them.
You can try to borrow the books from your friends and your library, or rent them. You can also look out for past candidates in trading forums, and borrow or buy the books from them. A different edition is not fatal, but make sure that you are reading the right chapters as the chapter numbers might have changed.
However, I recommend that you buy at least the 5 books needed for more than one level of CMT assessment. This bundle of books (listed below) is not only a time-saver, but also a set of excellent reference material.

pues vaya cosa yo ignoraba este tipo de certificacion pero seria bueno tomarlo en cuenta para un futuro...........para cuando como buenos traders que queremos ser tengamos algun pedazo de carton que por lo menos diga que conocemos las velas japones

No tenia ni idea la verdad. Gracias por la indo Viserin. Aunque por el idioma y tal seguro que nos vendría bien mirar en español.

Para ser CTM tendría primero que aprender ingles mas seriamente

Efectivamente, va en ingles, es tipo test y las falladas no computan ni restan o eso creo, pero el idioma es fundamental por supuesto,

Aqui en españa hay varias webs que preparan para el examen, yo ahora estoy liado con el DAF I y II, que lo tenia pendiente de hace tiempo. En Junio me examino. Pero esto esta facil comparado con la titulacion americana.

Buenas
el CMT es la certificacion americana que te convierte en especialista de analisis tecnico y chartista, tienes que pagar unas tasas y hacer el examen, una vez superado puedes ir pasando de nivel y presentarte de nuevo.

Digamos que es obtener oficialmente un titulo que demuestra tus conocimientos sobre bolsa en general y analisis tecnico en particular, pero en EEUU, aqui en españa hay otras titulaciones como las que da el EFPA con titulos DAF, aunque estos se asemejan mas al CFA americano ya que tienen mas que ver con la titulacion de asesores financieros, para la gestion de capitales y de carteras de terceros.

Si obtienes estas titulaciones, se puede decir que eres todo un experto, ganandote el respeto academico que tus conocimientos puedan suponer.

Los titulos publicados son los libros que hay que estudiar y aprenderse y de donde sale la materia de los exsamenes, por si alguno quiere presentarse.
